booking

You can book a room online through our booking page. Click the ‘Booking’ button or send an email to [email protected].

We have special mid-week deals between Sunday-Thursday. Rates are reflected in the booking engine.

Contact us for a price quote for corporate or other special events.

opening times

We are open all year around. Temporary closures might occur and will be communicated in advance to the guests wanting to book a stay.

Check-in is from 16:00, and check-out by 10:00. If we have no guests arriving after you, we will be happy to offer a complimentary late check out at 12:00 noon.

meals at umva muhazi

We serve a four-course dinner every evening at 19:00. You can add on meals to your reservation at the time of booking, you can also add meals when you arrive, but pricing will vary. When booking, please inform us about any allergies or dietary requirements. We do not offer a la carte offerings for dinner nor do we offer private dining.

Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00. In special circumstances (e.g. an early departure to visit the Akagera National Park), we will make you a packed breakfast to go. Breakfast and dinner are included in the prices of your stay.

There is a selection of salads, sandwiches and smoothies served at lunchtime.

DRINKS

We have onsite filtered water for unlimited water and ice. Drip coffee and tea are complimentary, UMVA offers a honor system so you can help yourself to sodas, beers, house wine and spirits and pay at the end of your visit.

We also offer a selection of South African wines and top shelf liquors available for purchase.

Can I come just for the food?

Our capacity is limited to serving hotel guests only. However, day passes our available for lunch time guests Sunday to Friday.

cancellations

  • Up to 14 days before your stay: Reservations can be cancelled or amended at no charge.

  • 14-7 days before your stay: If you cancel or change your reservation from 14 to 7 days in advance, you will be charged 50 percent of the cost of your stay.

  • Within 7 days of your stay: You will be charged the full price for the period reserved.

Group reservations (from four rooms to the entire hotel)

  • Up to 4 weeks before your stay: Full refund of your reservation

  • From 4-2 weeks before your stay: 50 percent of the agreed price will be charged.

  • Within 2 weeks of your stay: 100 percent of the agreed price will be charged.

can i bring my children?

We love children, but to give all our guests the opportunity to breathe easy and have a good time without having to worry about little eyes and ears. UMVA Muhazi operates as adults only and we politely request all guests are at least 18 years old or above.

UMVA Muhazi does make exceptions for special family weekends or if your group would like to book out all rooms for 1 or more nights.

are pets allowed?

We love animals, but pets are unfortunately not allowed at UMVA Muhazi.

can i bRing my own food?

Given the ecosystem of food production and recycling, we ask that you do not bring outside food or drink and enjoy the selection of fine food and drinks at Muhazi. We offer the most delicious breakfast and dinner at UMVA Muhazi included in your booking plus a selection of lunch items and snacks for sale. We are certain we can satisfy both your hunger and any cravings you might have!

We are set in an environment rich in all kinds of fauna which means that any food stored in the rooms attracts insects and potentially other animals. We therefore kindly request guests to not bring any outside food or to bring food into their rooms.
